How to Fold a Brompton

Based around a single frame and wheel size, there are three types of handlebar to choose from; combine these with the different saddle, gearing and component options to build your perfect Brompton folding bike.

The Fold

The clever design means that your Brompton can easily be folded or unfolded in under 20 seconds. When folded, the bike is locked into a compact package, which can be carried, pushed or towed easily and conveniently stored almost anywhere. The chain and gears are protected in the centre of the folded package, which also keeps them away from clothing and luggage.

Perfect for taking onboard public transport or putting in the boot of a car for more fun at your destination.

Handlebars

The three handlebar types offer different ride positions for various styles of riding. The handlebar options mean that the small folding bike will give a superb, and comfortable riding position.

The Ride

Whether you’re aiming to be first off the line, or you’re simply after a bike that’s less tiring for stop-start city riding, a Brompton is perfect for you. The small wheels afford the bike it’s great acceleration and manoeuvrability, and also increase the strength and rigidity of the wheels. Rider comfort is achieved by the long seatpost and a suspension block which means that even rides over rough surfaces and for longer distances are perfectly doable.

Colours

Brompton compact folding bikes are available in a range of 8 painted colours, the basic of which can also be requested as dual colour combinations. A number of premium finishes provide a clear coat over the steel, allowing you to appreciate the craftsmanship of the brazing.
